Description

Take advantage of special beach gear and bike credit! This luxury Kiawah Island vacation rental boasts a spacious interior with six bedrooms, a private pool, picturesque golf and lagoon views, and a short bike ride to the beach.

The home welcomes you with hardwood flooring, wainscoted walls, and arched ceilings. The living room offers a main sitting area with ample seating as well as a cozy sitting area for two, both complemented by a coffered ceiling and wall of windows leading to the pool deck and beautiful views. The light-filled kitchen features white cabinetry contrasted by dark countertops, a large island with bar stool seating, and convenient breakfast area for four. Adjacent to the kitchen, you’ll find a round dining table with seating for eight. The main floor master suite offers a king bed, sitting area, and spacious bathroom with double sinks, shower, and soaking tub. The laundry room and powder complete the main floor.

Ascend the foyer steps to reach the second floor and its four bedrooms. The second-floor master suite features a king bed, sitting area, and private bathroom with double vanities and a shower. A second bedroom offers a king bed, flat-screen TV, and private bathroom, a third bedroom offers a queen bed, flat-screen TV, and private bathroom, and a fourth bedroom has two queen beds and a private bathroom. Stairs lead you to the third-floor bedroom with a twin over twin bunk, armchair seating, large flat-screen TV, four-person table perfect for games, and a convenient bathroom.

The home is equipped with washer, dryer, and high-speed wireless internet.

This pool has a gas heater, so the pool may be heated in cooler months for $100/per day for the entire stay. It can take 24-48 hours for the pool water to reach the optimal temperature of 85-87 degrees. When the air temperature falls below 55 degrees, typically November-March, pool heaters have difficulty achieving the optimal temperature. In this case, pool heating will not be available.

Please note that this property has exterior security cameras that view the home's front entrance, rear deck, and garage. These cameras serve to protect both the property owner and rental guests.

Guest reservations of 3 to 21 nights come with a valuable credit to use towards beach gear rentals during your stay! The credit amount for this property is $400. You may use your credit for bicycles, beach chairs and umbrellas, beach carts, kayaks, stand-up paddleboards, and more.

During your stay on Kiawah Island, be sure to enjoy biking on the 30 miles of flat bike trails, golfing on one of five world-class courses, playing tennis, crabbing, fishing, swimming, and boating. Many families also enjoy the kids’ camp and nature programs at Night Heron Park.

Kiawah Island is about 40 minutes from historic Charleston, famous for incredible shopping, galleries, antique stores, museums, the South Carolina Aquarium, horse-drawn carriage rides, historic landmarks, and sumptuous dining.

RESERVATION PROCESS: Your reservation is not confirmed until you return the Akers Ellis Rental Agreement. This document will be sent to you via email within a few hours of making your reservation. You need to review and electronically fill out, sign, and submit the agreement within 24 hours. Once returned, Akers Ellis will collect payment and send you a reservation confirmation via email.

Our second time

There are few choices when you need a lot of bedrooms to rent on Kiawah Island. However, this home is well designed to accommodate many people of varying ages. The outdoor patio around the pool allowed us to gather safely since we were still dealing with COVID. With bicycles, the distance from the beach is manageable. The rental fee is expensive.

August, 2021 Family Vacation

We were very happy with this rental with enough room for our 4 adult families and 5 young grandchildren. The kitchen and house was well stocked and furniture was all in very good condition, with plenty of different spaces for us to interact and come and go. All light switches were identified, which was a great help, and we were happy to see the pool service fixing a problem they discovered (replacing a motor) before we moved in and cleaning the pool. One criticism is that the TVs and sound system was very difficult for some of us to understand - instructions would have been very helpful with this. We would recommend this house and will hopefully be able to rent it again.

Early Spring Visit

508 Bufflehead Fall

We found the house to be very comfortable for our family. Each person had a bathroom with their accommodations. The pool is a plunge pool so definitely smaller than it looks in the photo. We did have a few issues with checking in and finding dirty towels, dishwasher had not been run, and the master bedroom on the bottom floor had some bug issues.

Great family getaway for 12!

Our family has been coming to Kiawah since 1983! Needless to say our family of 6 has grown to 12 including 4 grandchildren ages 9-16. We all loved this rental property from the deck and small pool to the large and spacious bedrooms and the 3rd floor hideaway for the children. We did unfortunately have to drive to the beach as the distance was a bit far for us to walk. The house was perfect for a great week to escape the isolation of the pandemic and allow everyone to gather together while being able to distance ourselves from other groups on walks and bike rides as well as at the large beach.

Amazing views

We loved this house. Despite being close to the beach, we barley left the house as we enjoyed the deck, pool and views too much to leave. The views over the golf course and the surrounding trees/ water are stunning.
The house is huge, very well built and was very clean. The beds were comfortable and there were several extra quality pillows and blankets. We would stay here again!

80th Birthday celebration

The home was lovely, and beds were comfortable with extra blankets, pillows if wanted by guests.
Bikes were there on arrival. Enjoyed The Spa at Sanctuary and the River course for golf. Perfect.
Cupboards were full of everything necessary to cook and prep for a meal. Appreciated that. All of us said we'd like to come back for a beach week. Hope that can happen.
There were some light bulbs need replacement, and one light in the pool needs replacement.

Winter Stay 508 Bufflehead

This is our first time at this property but our 12th stay at Vanderhorst rental homes. This is a very nice home that we plan to rent again in May but in order to get an overall 5 stars several issues need resolution. Issues: Front door thumb latch is broken so door cannot be left unlocked for ease of entry during the day. One of the upstairs bedroom ceiling fans made a loud noise until it was set to the lowest speed. The ceiling fan in the upstairs master bedroom could not be adjusted. It was constantly on at the slowest speed. The deck grill did not have a propane tank, however, based on previous stays at Akers' properties, I feel this would have been quickly resolved had we planned to grill during this stay. The coffee drip maker had a used coffee filter still in the machine. There were no kitchen dish towels. Several of the complimentary bathroom toiletries had been partially used by previous occupants. Finally, the bike credit was utilized for five bikes but no bike lock combination was provided. We arrived around 5 pm Saturday and it took several phone calls and emails before the combination was provided the next day around 9:30 am. If these issues are resolved the property would easily rate 5 stars in all categories.

508 Bufflehead - 2019 Thanksgiving

The house was tremendous - exactly what we were looking for. Plenty of space for two families. Everything in the house was high quality - TVs, kitchen, bedding, etc. Minor issue in that the bikes were delivered to the house next door but I assume this was an honest mistake. Extra credit - the pool was already heated when we arrived, we jumped right in! Also, we had one additional guest arrive later in the week. I used the app to request an air mattress and it arrived within a few hours. Very convenient.

Always a relaxing stay in Kiawah

Easter Vacation

We had scheduled a family vacation during the Easter holiday. The first rental owner decided to stay for another month. With the second rental the air conditioning broke and may not have been fixed in time. Akers Ellis came to the rescue and located a beautiful five bedroom 6 1/2 bath home overlooking the lagoon and golf course. They also handled a few minor problems immediately. Very professional. Will definitely rent from them again. wtm
